The lone survivor is a a companion to the piece with the empty home in Fukushima. The survivor walks, is depressed and wonders where everyone else has gone. Over 150,000 people were displaced in the Fukushima Prefecture because of the triple meltdown of the Fukushima Daichi nuclear power plant. The land is contaminated..the birds are disappearing and the groundwater is radioactive. The fluorescent colors used in the picture represent to me the frightening and garish colors of radioactivity.
