I first encountered this quaint road, when I was in Banner Elk for a painting workshop. Although I was looking for a place to set up my easel, and do some plein aire painting, I knew I wanted to revisit this road in a larger format, and with more detail than I could accomplish in a plein aire painting in one afternoon. This painting is a result of multiple visits to this road. I’ve seen the field transform from fall into spring and then into summer. The grass I grows high on the right, and among them, numerous sprouts of Queen Anne’s lace welcoming you to investigate further along the curve in the road toward the little cottage that sits ahead of you .
The painting is framed in a natural wood floating frame.
