Barbara Dulgerian, daughter of survivors Varteres and Bertha, posed for the angel. Her fateher posed for the dying man
The survivors portrayed in this collection lived in Watertown, and Watertown Massachusetts. Currently Watertown is the home of one of the oldest and largest Armenian communities in the U.S. Their stories were told to Arlington, Massachusetts based artist Mary Hilt. She has transformed the spirit of these survivors into moving, expressive portraits and also created several paintings bases on the theme of the genocide. All of the paintings in this collection "The Armenian Genocide" have come out of her personal interviews.
