Mary Hilt has extensively used the mediums of watercolor, acrylics, pastels, and oil. She loves the classics of Michelangelo and Da Vinci, the painting of Sargent, the Impressionists, especially Monet, and the abstracts of Kadinsky and many other artists. "I never get bored if I am painting".

"Painting can be complicated and is a puzzle to solve". "There's a depth to it, and I see things so much more clearly when I'm painting. There's an aliveness as a new creation is being born. I learn from my paintings.

Attending Layton School of Art, affiliated with Marquette University, Mary continues her lifetime art exploration in ongoing studies in anatomy, figure drawing, watercolor, acrylic and oil techniques.

From a young age all Mary hilt wanted to do is draw. For more than 35 years, she has built an impactful career on this childhood interest. A renowned visual artist whose variety of work includes watercolor, oils, and a blend of traditional and surrealistic drawings, and paintings. Her talents have been displayed in galleries, museums, and other venues across the country since the 1980s.
