I was driving to Mercier Orchard in Blue Ridge GA when I saw this filed. I made sure on the way back I could stop and take photos of the yellow goldenrod in these fields. I knew I was going to paint a pastel of this scene. I have painted the little valley in the spring or summer but without the wildflowers in it. The little pole barn gives it a story to me. When seeing the old farms and outbuildings I always wonder who used it and what it was used for.
