This is a a painting of a New Forest Cicada. The only cicada native to the UK but they are one of the UK’s Most Endangered Insects. No one has seen one in many, many years. Grazing reduces the habitat where the Cicada lay their eggs. So I wanted this painting to draw attention to their loss of habitat
