The El Rey Theatre was designed by Clifford A. Balch and built in 1936 and It's another amazing example of an Art Deco theatre here in Los Angeles.
The El Rey ran films for over fifty years until the theatre was converted into a live music venue in 1994 and it has been used as such ever since.
Now listed as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument this wonderful deco theatre with one of my favorite neon marquee's has been a thriving survivor when many of these aren't.
