At the Edge of the Path

“The question is not what you look at, but what you see.” - Thoreau

During the making of this collection it was a season where I was reflecting on how we leave something of ourselves wherever we pass. Words, energy, items; things both visible and invisible. As I walked everyday I often noticed small compositions at my feet - various natural elements strewn across the path. Sometimes they reminded me of petroglyphs - traces of a moment. I like to think my work does the same by sharing evidence of a fleeting moment I noticed and made visible through line and colour.

Memory and Possibility

I am fortunate enough to live in a part of the world where the seasons are distinct and the landscape moves gently from one colour palette into another and signs of the earth receding, resting and arising again give shape to new forms and compositions. This series is in honour of change - all the fermentation, gestures, and movement that occur within ourselves and in the landscape- some we can see and some that is continually working in silence beneath the surface.
