Statement
Marie Moone's vibrant artwork explores the color and texture of paint, depicting unique expressions of form and dynamic moments in time. Referencing elements of nature, landscapes, architecture, and human and animal forms, she completes most paintings in one sitting, capturing a fresh and singular experience. Often painting from the tube and mixing on the work itself, she responds to what she sees. She views her work as a reflection of the experience with and in response to her subject matter; organic, real, and imagined. Marie is attentive to tension between edges, light and shadow, and exposing the layers of her process. She aims to portray the spirit of her subject matter through playful movement and intuitive expression.
