Maria Savchenko is an artist born in Donetsk, Ukraine, in June 1982, whose artistic journey is a profound exploration of the resilience of the human spirit and the infinite potential for rebirth and transformation. Her works, primarily encompassing abstract and expressive figurative paintings, along with art collages, serve as visual narratives that celebrate the beauty in the breakdown and the strength found in the act of rebuilding.

Maria's artistic vision is deeply rooted in her personal experiences of self-reinvention. She firmly believes that, just as she has reimagined her own life multiple times, each person has the power to rebuild and restructure their existence at any point in time. This belief has become the central theme of her art, embodying the limitless capacity for growth and renewal within each of us.

Having pursued a Master's degree in Linguistics at Donetsk State University in 2004, Maria went on to work as a communications specialist for organisations such as UNDP, GIZ, and EBA in Kyiv, Ukraine, from 2005 to 2013. Her diverse professional experiences provided her with a unique perspective that she now infuses into her art.

Maria's lifelong artistic education continued with a course in Contemporary Drawing and Painting at CSM London College of Arts in the UK in 2019, followed by further honing her skills in Oil Painting at Chelsea College of Arts in London in 2023.

Throughout her artistic career, Maria has exhibited her work internationally. Notable exhibitions include "Articles of Disintegration" (2019), "Design +" (2019), and "More is More" (2019) at Design Art Concepts during Art Basel week in Miami, US. In December 2020, her work was featured in a VR show titled "A Lot Can Happen in a Year." Most recently, in May 2023, she participated in the "Sunday Sunset by the Tejo" group show at Casa de Desenho in Lisbon, Portugal.

Maria Savchenko's art is an invitation to explore the complexities of human existence, to embrace change, and to acknowledge the power of self-reinvention.
