Margarete de Soleil is a naturalist visual artist living, working and exploring in the Midwest.
MessageMargarete began her Mutable Stone series in the Catskills of New York from creek stones foraged there. From that series, the work inspired new artistic series featuring nests, feathers and dragonflies in the same layered mixed media technique on paper. She is an exhibiting artist of over 40 years including Trenton City Museum in NJ, Woodstock Artists Association & Museum in NY, The Dana Gallery and Missoula Art Museum in MT, The Woodstock School of Art in NY, Muroff Kotler Visual Arts Gallery in Stone Ridge, NY, The Gallery on the Circle and DVAEC, MD and a solo show at The Skokie Public Library in IL. De Soleil's work is in private and public collections nationwide including The Skokie Public Library, IL and The Historical Society of Woodstock, NY.
Statement
I explore and celebrate the meditative quality of found nature forms with layers of mixed media on paper.
