For Florida-based multidisciplinary artist Glenyse Thompson, art begins with conversation. Working in painting, collage, and mixed media, she translates the rhythms of human exchange into vibrant compositions that celebrate connection, community, and the energy we draw from one another. “We are nothing without each other,” she reflects, positioning dialogue as both subject and foundation of her practice.
Thompson’s visual language is rooted in color and texture. Figures are suggested through radiant backgrounds that honor the brilliance and diversity of humanity in all forms. Lines and collaged elements echo the movement of dialogue and the layering of shared histories, while the inclusion of historical materials adds context and depth. “Through my art,” she notes, “I hope to transform viewers’ perceptions by inviting them to see the overlooked significance of our everyday conversations.”
Her work has been recognized widely, with features in publications such as Architectural Digest, Town & Country, Elle Decoration UK, and Southern Living, and as part of interviews in Martha Stewart Magazine and Design Milk’s Milkshake series. She was also profiled on PBS's WEDU Arts Plus, a nationally syndicated program.
Thompson’s art is held in private and institutional collections, including Sky Ala Moana Residences, Renaissance Honolulu Hotel and Spa. Her exhibition history includes Butter Art Fair x Mahogany Gallery, August 28-31, 2025, Indianapolis, Indiana and Amuse-Bouche, LeMieux Galleries, June 7-29, 2025, New Orleans, Louisiana️, positioning her within critical dialogues that link contemporary art to social and cultural narratives.
