Amiah Mims is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and muralist. A 2015 graduate of Kent State University, she earned her degree in Visual Communication Design with a minor in Photo Illustration. After leaving her full-time role at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a Graphic Designer, she launched Works By Mimsy LLC to more fully pursue her creative vision(s).
Her artistic style shifts fluidly with content and context, often centering on the emotional language of the human form and the layered symbolism of florals. Bold reds, yellows, and blues are frequent anchors in her palette. Rooted in curiosity, intention, and creative freedom, Mims’ work continues to evolve as she explores new ways of connecting visual storytelling to lived experience.
To date, a few of her art career highlights include the Indy BLM Street Mural (2020), Sleek: The Art of the Helmet Exhibition at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum (2022), We.The Culture exhibition at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields (2022-23), BUTTER 1, 2 & Home Court Edition (2021-24), NBA All Star Weekend: Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Barrels (2024), the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials Helmet Souvenirs (2024) and the AT&T WNBA All-Star Artsgarden artwork (2025).
