A Soft Spot depicts Bleeding Heart/Lamprocapnos spectabilis with Dryad’s Saddle/Polyporous squamosus and oyster mushrooms.
Bleeding Hearts are one of the first flowers of spring; their emergence often coincides with that of the fungi Dryad’s Saddle. Part of the New Herbarium series, my interpretation of the practice of preserving and presenting plants. Inspiration for this series came from Emily Dickinson’s Herbarium.
The original mushroom spore print has been sold, but A Soft Spot is available as a fine art print on 13 x 19 inch museum grade archival cotton with four deckled edges. Image size is 11 x 15 inches. Each print is signed and numbered; 25 total prints per edition.
