I coiled this basket from sweetgrass and bound it with waxed thread, shaping it around an ocean-washed brick fragment. The brick serves as a weight and anchor, pressing against the curve and fixing the basket’s tilt. The work explores how a soft, responsive structure adapts to a rigid core and how utility, balance, and restraint guide the final form.
