This is a standing 3/4 length portrait of the Pope with the dove of the Holy Spirit descending on him. The Pope is wearing a gold cape, and the beehive-and-triple-crown hat worn by popes in the 12th-17th century for public political occasions. The painting is housed in a hand-built gilded architectonic frame with gothic arched top.
