The whole time I was painting this beautiful mare, I was thinking of the movie "Runaway Bride", so she has been dubbed as such! This is the eighth painting in my Wildflowers series. I found inspiration for her in a photo by Anne Smith in the Library of Artist Reference Photos page on Facebook, with permission.
Medium: Painted on Arches 300# watercolor paper with Brusho® Crystal Colours in beautiful shades of rose red, sandstone, yellow ochre, and aquamarine, with a pop of orange and pink. This piece is mounted on a cradled wood panel and framed in a beautiful bronze-tone floating frame.
