Lynette Redner
Janesville, Wisconsin
An artist that is self directed in learning. Endless workshops, books, and videos and a ton of "brush time".
MessageLynette Redner was raised on a farm north of Clinton, Wisconsin. She left Wisconsin and was a traveling nurse across the United States, for five years and then settled in Arizona for 20 plus years. Lynette returned to Wisconsin in 2011 to be closer to her aging parents, Donna and Jim Redner, who have since passed. Currently she lives near Richmond, Wisconsin, a farming community south of Whitewater. After 36 years of nursing, she gave it up to pursue her lifelong passion for art. Her art outgrew her nursing work.
Lynette’s art is a result of self-directed learning. In the last eight years she has taken intense week-long classes from internationally known artists. Lynette works in a variety of mediums, and she paints in her Janesville studio, which is housed in the Alden House that is the business of Anne Rosa Interior Design. She could be considered the resident artist. She paints on site, whenever she can in the rural areas of Rock and Walworth counties. She competes in plein air events to improve her skills and enjoys the “tribe” of kindred spirits involved in the events. She enjoys doing multiple art fairs indoors and outdoors every year.
Her goal as a painter is to capture that moment in time, through her vision, choices of colors and brushstrokes and hopes the viewer finds some comfort in viewing her work. She believes the viewer is a part of the painting process. When paintings find a home, that is a significant part of the circle of painting. She very much loves seeing how people connect with different art pieces and hearing the stories of why the painting resonates with the viewer.
She also released a children’s picture book in 2023 called “Barnyard Talk”. Another book was released(9.2024), “Clouds” written by her friend, Nancy Lippincott and illustrated by Lynette. The illustrations date back to the 1990s. Both can be found on Amazon.

Statement
I use watercolors, oils, water-mixable oil, and gouache to convey my story and evoke calm and healing in my artwork. There is an emphasis on how light interacts with the rural landscapes, old buildings, and historic barns, as I reflect on the lives connected to these structures and places. My animal paintings focus on conveying their emotions as stories. Nature serves as my inspiration, deeply shaped by my experience growing up on a farm in Wisconsin. Through my artwork, I aim to share a touch of the outdoors with every home my paintings find their way into.
