Created with mixed media papers, tissue papers, colored pencil, ink and acrylic.
This piece started off as a mixed media experiment. I filled the surface with scribbles using pens, pencils, markers, etc. Then I covered it all with various colors of tissue paper.
It sat like this for a while - till I finally decided to add a face. (based on the face of a friend and former student, Sydney)
The swirls over the head could be seen as meandering thoughts or distractions of the mind. Beautiful distractions. (I deal with ADHD, and when its not interrupting in a disruptive way, I enjoy the varied train-hopping directions my brain goes.)
