Five African American children are playing ball in the school yard. Three boys with white T-shirts and two girls in dresses; four of the children stand facing the viewer, and one boy sits on the ground with his back to us. The ground they play on is colorfully bright yellow with green grass. In the background is the red brick school building and two children are silhouetted by a blue-white sky.
