In December 2022, my high school friend Wil Colon visited my studio with his children. He wanted to not only see my artwork but also introduce his kids to the experience of visiting an artist's studio. During their visit, Wil's daughter expressed a particular fondness for the Black & White Puerto Rican flag that I had painted for the historical show called Citicien by Adrian Viajero and Defend Puerto Rico. Due to the significance of the show, the painting is currently not available for sale. However, Wil asked if I could recreate it, and I gladly accepted the challenge.
For this new version, I decided to make a few modifications. Instead of using the same 12x12 inch dimensions as the original piece, I chose to work with a ratio that better resembles an actual flag. The painting is now on a 12x24 inch wood board, and I employed my usual strainer pour technique and layered white stripes, a black glittered triangle, and a paper maché star.
If you're interested in having a similar painting for yourself, please feel free to reach out and let me know. I'd be happy to create one for you.
