Please find the image by photographer James C. Lewis in the link below, which served as the inspiration for the grid piece displayed here. This painting was a project undertaken during the COVID-19 pandemic. The concept involved painting 21 wooden pieces measuring 4x4 inches and affixing them to a larger wooden board, mirroring the grid image created by Lewis.
During an internet search, I came across Lewis' image while specifically looking for non-traditional depictions of the Orishas. This image served as a starting point for my own artistic interpretation.
