Statement

I’m Kristin Gunn. A Texan at the core, but split between Austin and the mountain air of Morrison, Colorado. Two studios. Two speeds.

I paint with acrylics, with mixed media, coffee, oil sticks, pastels, lipstick and more.

I’ve been drawing my whole life, but painting found me a few years ago, and it’s been full throttle ever since. 

I’m a Gen X artist shaped by the era that gave us bold graphics, unapologetic attitude, and the belief that women could do anything. That energy lives in everything I make. 

My work is rebellious and fun, unafraid of color, and rooted in a deep love for nature ... you’ll find earthy tones sitting right alongside electric hues, because that tension is exactly where I like to be.

At the heart of it all is a fierce belief in women’s empowerment and the quiet power of the natural world. I paint what I’m obsessed with, what moves me, what makes me laugh or ache or feel alive. I don’t follow rules I didn’t make, I follow instinct, color, and whatever’s demanding to get out. If my work makes you feel something, we’re already speaking the same language.
