Impasto Skies is the second piece in a series following my solo exhibition Equilibrium. It continues the conversation begun in the installation Subconscious Panel Wall. After spending extensive time exploring intuitive abstract expressionism, I developed a deeper appreciation for layering and texture, which informed this work.
This piece reflects an openness to experimentation across mediums. Impasto Skies blends everyday coloring tools such as markers, colored pencils, and watercolor with impasto acrylic paint. The combination allows for both delicate detail and bold, textured surfaces, creating a dynamic interplay of form and depth.
