Lori Johnson is an American painter known for her colorful, textured compositions and energetic mark making. Lori can often be found in her Dallas Studio working on multiple pieces at the same time. Fascinated by landscape, color and ornamental expression. Her paintings reveal colorful movement, the need for positive spirit and visual sophistication. She sculpts and scratches the paint, creating layered and complex pieces that are full of life.
These exuberant handcrafted pieces radiate expression that intrigue the boldness within us. Often her pieces include an underpainting of phrases that shapes a deliberate meaning for an emotional outcome. Her painting has been a private endeavor, like much of her life and delights to add joy and visual sophistication to a beautifully designed space.
Lori’s art has been exhibited throughout the Midwest and Texas in numerous private collections. Her work has supported staging and production companies including, A&E, HGTV and Magnolia Network. You can find her work in Homegoods and Home Sense. Shes shown her work at the Vegas Market and at Highpoint Market with Wexel Art. In addition, Lori continuously works with philanthropic organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, Ranch Hand Rescue, Bob’s House of Hope, The MS Society of Dallas and Make a Wish Foundation. Lori is a founder of a nonprofit that’s all about giving back to teachers—we’ve renovated school lounges across the country with the Design Besties. Making everyday spaces feel special.
