MessageArtist Bio:
Sometimes our path in life seems preordained. Lisa’s road tripping began with her birth in Williamsburg, Virginia. Two years later, she was off to Long Island for a ten-year gig. At 12, the beaches of San Diego beckoned her family.
With adulthood came wanderlust, and Lisa traded flip-flops for mukluks in Minneapolis, anchoring her life through the Minnesota Opera Chorus and later as a soloist at Plymouth Congregational Church. Tempted by tarmac and blacktop, she also toured the U.S. and Europe with The Rose Ensemble for twelve years. She’s probably gone through more suitcases than Taylor Swift!
Now Lisa’s on a new road trip, capturing the kitsch, the comic, and the lost classics scattered across the backroads of the Midwest through her lens and artistic vision. It’s the beginning of a heartfelt journey of discovery, blending photography and digital painting, and she hopes you are drawn in by this unique taste of the familiar and the forgotten.

Statement
Artist Statement Lisa Drew
I am the daughter of artist parents; my mother, an abstract acrylics painter and my father, a painter and floral designer (florist.) During my life I have been surrounded by color, form, imagination, expression, and music. My parents encouraged us to explore what made us happy whatever the outcome. The important thing was to find our true happiness.
Music was the heart and sole of my life, so I pursued a professional vocal performance successfully performing as a concert soloist throughout the United States and Europe. Spanning over 40 years, I experienced a twenty year career with two major opera companies, twelve years with the internationally acclaimed early music ensemble The Rose Ensemble, and twenty years as church soloist at Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis.
Several years ago a benign growth on my vocal cords resulted in the loss of my professional singing voice. This led to my exciting discovery of using visual art through the lens of a camera evoking a newfound artistic expression using architectural forms, landscapes, and abstracts in both black & white and color using my computer to further my expression.
My hope is that you will find something in the presentation of my artwork that sings to you.
