Statement
My work explores intervals in space and time. I portray visual contours between tree branches and roots, while using ephemeral colors from transitions in time, in the imagery I capture on paper using an array of drawing, printmaking, and painting techniques. I manipulate those surfaces to create polymorphic forms shaped to mimic the visual negative spaces I reference in my 2D imagery. Because of the kinetic energy activated by the air as viewers pass by, these objects hold a conversation between each other and the viewer, about our interaction both positively and negatively, with the ecosystems we live in, and their fleeting beauty.
