The initial ThreePond Art collection - conceptual landscapes - is focused on encaustic artworks, and explores personal connections with place. “Bubbles under the Sea” reflects the feelings of floating in the ocean and exploring the world beneath the surface.
Encaustic is an ancient process dating back to the Greeks and the Roman-Egyptian empires. It uses heated beeswax, resin, and pigment, and then each layer and color is fused with heat. It has a mind of its own, which I love, and allows me to create layers and texture to express my artistic ideas.
