Rana Begum (b.1977) studied at Slade School of Fine Art (MFA). Her visual language draws from both Minimalist Abstraction and the geometric patterns of Islamic art and architecture.

Influenced by the work of artists such as Tess Jaray and Bridget Riley, this grid-based image plays with the simplicity of form found in everyday objects, creating areas of intrigue from simple juxtaposition of colours.
