Pasmore was a pioneer in the development of post-war abstraction in Britain in the 1940s and 50s, and today is considered to be one of the key abstract artists of the 20th century. This etching shows a garden in Hammersmith. The simple straight lines of the fence juxtapose with the curving and wild branches of the tree. A metamorphism of nature into man made material.
