Roger Large (1939 - 2019) was born in Merseyside and was introduced to art during National Service through a group of art students. This awoke something in him and he started to paint. Large exhibited pictures pictures partly collaged with thick paint, forming blocks of discordant colour. They were inspired through landscape but resulted in abstracted colours and forms.
