In Far West Texas, where peaks embrace clouds and the terrain plummets to the lowland desert floor in a short distance, each fold and tuck of the land can foster its own season. Yucca flowers magically appear in protected pockets of sunny warmth long before green grass carpets the mountains.
Watercolor washes allowed me to share the patchy color of the high desert forest, while the detailed drawing suggests the energy of new growth.
