This young cardinal seemed delighted with the light snowfall and the sunflower seed I tossed, he didn't linger in his dash across the yard. Nobody enjoys cold feet!
Snow isn't simply a mass of white. On this December day, the cradle of twigs and fallen leaves on the forest floor hold translucent, melting snow. Nor is the red bird a bundle of red. His feathers shimmer in violet, blue, green and brown, so touches of scarlet pop with life in this happy little painting.
