Who has seen the wind? In the high desert, Wind is as permanent a resident as cactus, mule deer and grama grass, and impossible to ignore as it sweeps color across land and sky. And when the low sun leaks through rapidly moving storm clouds, the rowdy wind weaves such rich color across mountains and pastures, you can almost forgive it for blowing your hat off.
I began this mountain pasture landscape as a loose color study, but that initial sketch quickly began developing into a full blown painting. It was as if this painting demanded as much attention as the storm that inspired it.
