Rosy cholla blooms nest in a tangle of tall cactus branches and spines to decorate the high desert of Far West Texas.
This tall cholla cactus has grown on the ranch so many years, it's spiny branches are twisted and tangled around themselves in a puzzle of thorns. When it blooms, though, it becomes a splendid addition to the high desert mountains we live in outside Fort Davis, Texas.
This oil painting is self-framed; the painting wraps around the sides of the wood that cradles the archival gessobord.
