Zambia, Old Mondoro Camp, on the Zambezi River.
We were on foot, standing very still, close to this beautiful elephant as he flapped his ears in agitation. He was magnificent , his presence large, extraordinary. I chose to paint him on a very large canvas to give a sense of awe what I had experienced in that moment.
