Linda Hellfritsch-Robinson is a painter, designer, curator, and educator. She was born in 1962 in Santa Monica, CA, raised in the foothills of an unincorporated section of Orange County on a former orange and avocado farm, and grew up wild, free, and mostly unsupervised. From an early age her parents considered her to be artistic, however she much preferred being outdoors and spent as much time as possible riding her skateboard, exploring houses under construction, and reading books in trees. Hellfritsch-Robinson originally completed a certificate program in Reprographic Design Technology at Saddleback College, Mission Viejo, CA and went on to successfully work as a freelance graphic designer for many years. In 2005 she returned to school and earned dual AA degrees from Cabrillo College, Aptos, CA in Graphic Design and Liberal Arts. She then transferred to San Jose State University (SJSU) intending to complete her education through the graduate level, but as a single mother of three in a tanking economy it eventually became necessary to leave school. It was during her time at SJSU that Hellfritsch-Robinson transitioned away from painting realistically and began to explore semi-abstraction. In the years that followed she continued to paint at home, switching to less-toxic water-based paints, incorporating mediums and texture, developing her abstract practice of visual deconstruction—and first started adding symbols and typography to her images.

In early 2017 Hellfritsch-Robinson moved from Santa Cruz, CA to Omaha, NE to explore new love and create art. In 2018, after an ankle injury and subsequent surgery, she decided once again to return to school and enrolled at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO). On December 18, 2020 she graduated with honors, having finally earned her BFA in Studio Art 2D and a Minor in Art History. In 2022 she again moved halfway across the country—this time to the D.C. area with her husband. Currently she is painting and creating in a new WFH studio space and is very much looking forward to finding creative ways to work and exhibit her art in the post-pandemic world.
