My husband and I vacationed in South Dakota a couple of years ago. We rented a house outside Custer. We were fortunate enough to have a small herd of horses in the pasture right outside our back door. These two were particularly interesting. They were always together and always as close together as they could get. I watched them groom each other, graze together, and stand with their heads over each other's necks. They truly were besties. We typically explored South Dakota during the day, but toward the end of the day we would return and watch these horses in the late afternoon and early evening light. This is from one of those quiet, relaxing moments.
