Lia spent most of her life in Italy, and growing up, she was surrounded by all types of artists in her family. Her main inspiration is Botticelli, who is known for his pieces embracing the women’s body. Frida Kalo is also another inspiration because as a woman artist, it is difficult to stand out in the industry, which is very empowering. Lia’s art focuses on the women’s body and the beauty of the creation and life that it brings. Life comes from the women’s body and she creates her pieces in a way in which she illustrates the beauty of the process. Lia forms an intimate relationship between herself and the canvas, just as a woman has with her unborn child. She creates several layers of paintings, before finalizing the product which creates a beautiful story, similar to a woman carrying a baby for 9 months – the final product is unknown until the end of the creative process. Lia’spaintings embrace the beauty of women and feminism in art.
