Artist Bio
Born in 1966 and based in Texas, Lezlie Lenay is an abstract expressionist painter whose work is rooted in emotion, playfulness, and freedom. She began painting seriously in 2019, channeling a deep personal transformation into bold, energetic artworks filled with movement and color.
Her early love for creativity showed up in childhood stories of painting everything from her little brother to the family goat—revealing a spontaneous, unstoppable spirit that still guides her work today. Though she jokingly refers to her education as coming from the “school of hard knocks,” she later attended Community College and continues to learn through online courses and lived experience.
In 2025, she launched Colorfull Doors, a platform to share and sell her work and help others achieve their dreams also. As a full-time artist, she paints daily, driven by intuition, faith, and a passion to express what cannot be said in words. Her work embraces imperfection, emotional depth, and joyful discovery, celebrating the healing and connecting power of art.
Statement
My strength and inspiration come from the Lord. As a Christian painter, I approach my work with purpose and hope—believing that each painting will find its rightful home and speak to others in meaningful, thought-provoking, or emotional ways.
Painting has become an essential part of my daily life, a passion that began in 2019 and has since become deeply integrated into who I am. I paint with heart, honesty, and joy, continually developing my skills and discovering new aspects of myself along the way.
Each piece I create is a reflection of this journey—a blend of faith, healing, and creative exploration. I hope my work invites connection and stirs something real in those who view it.
