Garlandstone Arts is presently dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of the distinguished art collection at the Half Moon resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Since its founding in the early 1950s, this renowned establishment features works by some of the most prominent Jamaican artists from the 20th and 21st centuries.
In 2022, the organization acquired the estate of Michael Lester (Michał Leszczyński), a Polish-born painter who settled in Montego Bay, to uphold the artistic heritage of Half Moon. The acquisition comprises more than 650 works, and Garlandstone Arts is currently undertaking the comprehensive tasks of inventory management, digitization, conservation, and curation of this significant collection.
In recognition of a partnership established in the 1960s, Garlandstone Arts and Half Moon are honored to perpetuate this legacy, reintroducing the work of Michael Lester, a master artist, to a global audience.
