This painting is a commission piece based on other Scottish paintings the client had seen - see other images
We discussed colours and sizing, framing and where the painting was going in his home. The client sent a photo of the intended space and I advised best sizings of canvas, bearing in mind that the frame increases the size slightly. This is a deep edge canvas which means when finally framed the depth is around 7 cms -- chunky and solid, giving a feeling of weight to the piece. Perfect for this subject.

This is a powerful lochside Scotttish painting inspired by Loch Lomond.

‘Lochside Drama’

Framed size 85 x 105 cms

The painting is inspired by many experiences spent at Loch Lomond just outside of Glasgow where we lived. Dad had a boat and we were often slowly navigating the treacherous waters surrounded by looming mountains. Loch Lomond is known for deep waters and strong currents and the deep blue and greens are there to suggest that. I’m aiming for the feeling and drama of this place - makes one feel so small, but engulfed in beauty. It's about how small we are in comparison to Nature.
The painting is subtly initialled on the front bottom right.
On the back, signed, titled and dated.
