Collection: InnerConnected Series
InnerConnected Series illustrating the connections made and journeys taken through a soul’s time here on earth. This series has been a cathartic outlet for the healing I’ve had to face post Iraqi war, as I’ve battled healing my mind and body while deepening my connection to Spirit and my true self.
In my sculptures I use the rings to represent souls and entities, the spears to represent the stressors of life that pull and puncture us in many different ways, the various finishes to represent the varying journeys lives take while inhabiting earth, and kintsugi to represent the healing of illusions of brokenness.
Some souls traverse this earthly plane in a seemingly glossy way, but upon closer inspection they are crackled throughout from their contact with others, as interpreted through ‘Touches.’ ‘Priorities’ narrates the journey of souls navigating what they must take with them in order to remain glossy and intact while trying to serve all their masters. Then there are the journeys that are raw, kissed by fire, or bare that show their true foundation and formation.
‘Disruptor’ uses kintsugi to highlight the struggles and beauty in breaking generational traumas, while ‘Tear of Sorrow’ displays spotting of cool blues throughout its connections. ‘Turn Up of What’ is rising out of a red hot start to cool into its tensions.
As seen in all of the pieces, some connections are bonded more deeply than others, but none are impervious to the stressors of life and time.
