'Turn Up for What?' is part of the 'InnerConnected Series', where each piece explores the interconnectedness of life’s journey. Consistent with the rest of the series, this work uses rings to represent soul entities and spears to symbolize the stresses that shape our path. The piece consists of two components: a lower vessel and a sculptural topper. Finished with mica terra sigillata, horse hair, and sugar, the texture of the piece evokes the intensity of life’s challenges. The finish reflects the moments when our blood boils, symbolizing the pressures that test us. These boiling points, while difficult, forge strength in our bonds, capturing the tensions and transformative power found within those intense moments. Through this sculpture, the piece speaks to the resilience formed from adversity and the complex balance between stress and connection.
