What color is memory? In this painting, I attempted to answer that question with a muted palette of cream colors and muted blues and grays. Pops of orange intrude, like thoughts of the here and now, maybe to keep us from getting lost in the past. The image of a mother and her sailor son against the backdrop of a baby coat provide elements for you to create your own narrative.
