Cyanotype, acrylic, charcoal, and pigment on silk, linen and cotton textiles. Framed in custom maple float frame.
This piece started its evolution in 2022 during a painting session and photoshoot in Sunshine Canyon. Using a tiling float tool and my hands, I created a rubbing of the stones on canvas. I added raw earth pigments and charcoal with gritty, gestural mark making. This canvas then sat in a pile for 3 years until it found its match with the sheer blue cyanotype and hand dyed linen textiles. I love how this piece feels wild and yet also structured. There is so much room for your eyes to roam and also places for you to rest.
