Kippi Leonard is a multidisciplinary artist based in Cathedral City, California. Known for her textured and emotionally resonant paintings, she works with oil, cold wax, desert sand, and mixed media on raw linen, canvas, and birch panels. Her practice explores structure, memory, and abstraction—often informed by architectural forms and the stark beauty of the desert.
A former interior designer, Leonard brings a refined eye for composition and materiality to her work. Her process is intuitive and iterative, involving excavation, layering, and mark-making to reveal what lies beneath the surface—both literally and metaphorically.
Leonard’s work has been exhibited nationally and is held in private collections throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and beyond. She is represented by J. Rinehart Gallery (Seattle), Samuel Owen Gallery (Greenwich), and Costello Gallery (Scottsdale). In addition, she is the founder of Kippi Leonard Gallery | Studio in the Perez Art District and the newly opened STUDIO | KIPPI LEONARD in Palm Springs at The Shops at 1345—a concept-driven space shaped by her vision for art-forward living.
