Kimberly Smitherman is an emerging self taught artist who has found her passion over the last several years in expressive fluid art. A native of Alabama, she has found mentorship in various fluid artists, namely Christine Jeszeck, Olga Soby & Gilly Kube.

She feels that fluid art allows her to express emotions through vibrant colorful techniques. She draws inspiration from nature and bold colors. She finds fluid art to be an exciting and dynamic painting technique that uses pouring methods to create abstract designs. It allows for vibrant colors to blend together, forming unique patterns and textures that captivate the viewer’s imagination. This method embraces spontaneity, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind.

Kimberly recently participated in the 2024 Roots & Wings Art Show in Selma, Alabama.

Her artwork called “Happy Days” was accepted into the 58th Annual Montgomery Art Guild Regions Bank Exhibition and will be on display October 8-30, 2024 at RSA Tower in Montgomery, Alabama.

She hopes to continue learning and growing as an artist and to share her artwork with her community and others.
