Connections in Space
A solo exhibit that took place at D'art Gallery in 2022
The mountains surrounding Kim Roberts' home in Crestone, Colorado provide the inspiration for her contemporary oil landscapes. Her motivation for making art is to share an experience of an expanded state of mind that often arises in the midst of high mountain landscapes--and inspired by her decades long meditation practice. Kim’s intention is to create the space for the viewer to pause and take a moment to rest the mind and experience a sense of peace.

Each piece begins with a sense of place, with the geography acting as a mirror for a sense of internal location evoked by the landscape. Her hope is that through the work, she can convey a sense of this settled, spacious experience of mind that arises from deep meditation.
