Once I get to a point that it seems a painting is visually finished, I study it for substance and feeling. This acrylic painting on canvas reminds me of a visit I was fortunate to make to Xunantunich, an Ancient Maya archaeological site in western Belize. The painting consists of primarily greens and yellows that depict looking down from an aerial view over green foliage and a blue structure representing a ziggurat or Mayan temple.
